"Bills on the TABLE"

This would be a huge step forward for SHELTER DOGS,  we need to act now!

H.R. 3885, introduced by Henry Brown, R-SC, is a bill to create a pilot program that will train and provide service dogs for our veterans suffering from PTSD.

HOWEVER, the way the bill is currently written, under DESIGN of PILOT PROGRAM, means SHELTER DOGS COULD NOT BE TRAINED FOR THIS PROGRAM:

4. Ensure that each assistance dog used in the program be -purpose bred for assistance dog work and has adequate temperament and health clearances.

As many of us know from working in an animal shelter, many shelter dogs can have these characteristics.

This could be a perfect unity for improving the lives of disabled veterans, and saving the lives of shelter dogs!

Please contact your Congressman or Congress woman to eliminate this language in future presentations of this bill.

This bill is currently tabled, but may be reintroduced.

"Hear ye, hear ye!"
