Our Friends of Matsu Animal Shelter page is  maintained by dedicated volunteers of our Advocates team!  Within this page we recognize those individual volunteers, animal shelter staff, animal rescue groups, local businesses, and community service individuals, that make it possible to give shelter animals the best care and attention while they are temporarily sheltered at Matsu Animal Shelter.

Whether it requires foster care, media coverage, or actual work at the shelter, these dedicated people work tireless hours for the benefit of these animals.

We encourage you to join the volunteer team at your local animal shelter.

Congratulations Matsu Animal Shelter staff and volunteers! It has been one year to the month from the Montana Creek Malamute/Husky Rescue.  Your dedication and perseverance in seeing justice done for the 160 dogs did pay off.  Frank Rich was given a sentence of only 6 months in jail, BUT a 10 year sentence of probation without the ability to own, house, caretake and come in contact with any animals. If you haven't seen it yet, please take a moment to watch our dedication video to you, and the love and attention you gave those 160 dogs!

Come see this cutie! She's gonna go fast!
This Sheltie girl is just 6 months old and a doll! She is one of the many purebreds that make it into our shelter and she's looking for a quiet comfy home to call her own. She would do best in a home without young children due to the nature of the breed. Before you adopt one of the beautiful dogs in the shelter, do you research on the breed. To find out more about her call 907-746-5500.
Trigger
Trigger is a 1 yr old pit bull that is great with other dogs, loves kids and being a part of the "crowd".
Squeegie!
Squeegie is a 2 year old American Pitbull Terrier that enjoys her fellow tail wagging companions. She has two best friends that are kenneled next to her, so we think she would be happiest in a home with another dog. She knows sit and lay down, but being s teenager, she still has much more room for other tricks in her cute chunky head. She is short and compact so she is fairly portable for travel purposes. Come on by and see this lover!
Parker
Parker is a 2 yr old Black lab mix, he is currently in the SPOT (shelter pet obedience training) program.  He hopes to graduate in February and then he may be adopted!

Im a playful family dog!
This 10 month old guy is a whole bag of fun! He's a lab/bull dog mix that will keep you entertained! He's intact, but will go home neutered, chipped, and up to date on all shots. To come and meet this goofy boy, stop by the Mat-Su animal shelter on 49th state
Meet Siren, a 2 year old Alaskan Husky with a big heart. Siren needs a very active home where she won't be left alone for too many hours of the day. She is already chipped and wants to go where you go. Come meet this sweet soul!
Sadie
The sweet heart spayed pitbull mix of 8 months old Sadie is simply a doll! She loves fetch and tug of war and is good with some other dogs. She is a little bouncy so she should go to a home with older children. She's chipped and looking for a fur-ever home at the matsu animal shelter
Mr Hound Dog

This boy is a big dog!  He is a puppy through and through once you get him out of his kennel.  He loves to play, he is about 85 pounds at 2 yrs old, he still has some filling out to do.  He is some type of hound dog, mixed with a lab, but definitely personality plus.  Come visit him today!

Cattle Dog Mix
This boy is about 4 yrs old, and has some cattle dog features.  He is energetic and playful, he gets a bit over zealous when playing with other dogs sometime, but he can be easily persuaded to leave it.
